Preparing For Roach Treatment

For your protection and to ensure the effectiveness of treatment, it is vital that you follow the following instructions.  If you fail to do your part, we just can’t guarantee the treatment, but with your help, we’ll get rid of the roaches bugging you!

Customer Responsibilities PRIOR TO Arrival of Technician:

  1.  Empty The Cabinets & Drawers:  Empty out all kitchen and bathroom cabinets and drawers.
  2. Empty countertops Remove all small appliances and knicknacks.   Large microwaves and ovens can stay where they are.
  3. Clean:  Clean all appliances, counter tops, cabinets, Drawers and kitchen/bathroom floors with soap and hot water.Vacuum all floors making sure to get really good around the baseboards. Vacuuum the edges of the cabinets, and drawers.  This will help remove roach eggs.
  4. Where do I put all my stuff?  Place all items from the cabinets on the table or in the center of the living room floor and cover with a sheet, blanket or plastic tarp.  Any dishes left in the house should be washed before use. Alternatively, you can put your dishes in a laundry basket, load them in the car and take them with you - then simply put them back in the cabinets when you return.
  5. Large appliances:  Pull refrigerator, dishwasher, and stove away from the wall enough so the technician will be able to get behind them.
  6. Safety: Do not keep any unopened food out during treatment.  Place unopened food on the table or middle of the living room and cover with a sheet, blanket, or plastic tarp.EVERYONE MUST LEAVE THE HOME DURING AND AFTER TREATMENT.  Your pest control technician is happy to lock up your home after treatment.  No one may return to the home for 4 hours after the treatment begins.

Customer responsibilities FOLLOWING treatment by Technician:

  1. Safety:  DO NOT come back home for 4 hours after the roach treatment begins.  Make sure pets, children, and people with breathing issues do not enter the home until another person checks to make sure all surfaces are dry and no odors are present. If after 4 hours, odors are still present, open windows to air out the home. Do not touch the roach bait.
  2. Cleaning:  Clean all surfaces which will come in contact with food (counters, tables, bars, etc).  Clean bottom surfaces of cabinets.
Vacuum up any dead roaches every day.

Do not leave any food, trash, grease, or drinks out at night.  Do not leave dirty dishes on counters or in the sink at night. Seal all food in airtight containers and zip-lock bags.  (For example chips, crackers, cereal, cat food, and dog food can not be left in just their original packaging. Those packages are not airtight, so roaches are able to get inside.)
